We know how important it is that your children are well supported and nurtured at nursery, especially when there is a special educational need and disability to consider.
Our dedicated special educational needs co-ordinator, Jenny, is committed to ensuring your child's needs are met as fully as possible.
Welcome from Jenny
I am passionate about creating an inclusive place for your children and as a wider team we are committed to ensuring we meet the needs of every child, so they can reach their full potential.
I have vast experience in meeting the various needs of children and working in close partnership with agencies such as speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and health visitors.
At Saffron Walden Nursery School, each child has a key person who is matched to your child allowing them to really get to know them and build a relationship with you as well. So, when it comes to assessing and supporting, they are fully able to support your child's development and adapt to their needs.
I am always available for a chat and am happy to support you and your child, so please give me a ring.
Feedback from a parent:
My daughter is currently at Saffron Walden Nursery School and the SENCo is absolutely wonderful. My daughter has a 1:1 key person who she loves. Her PT, OT and SLT all go into the nursery, her 1:1 then supports her based on their guidance.
The majority of staff at the nursery are mums and they totally love and nurture my child. That is what mattered to us. They've gone out of their way to find out about her disability and ways in which they support her. We also felt the environment at Saffron Walden Nursery School was far more conducive to supporting her physical development that the flat concrete playgrounds you might find in other nurseries. It's beautifully reproduced and accessible indoor and out. I'd highly recommend meeting with their SENCo.
